Returns & Refunds
Costumes are all about the moment: parties, dress-up days, Halloween, festivals, and big entrances. If something is not right with your order, we want to help quickly and fairly.
Please read the details below before starting a return.
Start a Return
To request a return, contact us at support@lotsofcostumes.com within 7 days of delivery.
Please include:
- Your order number.
- The email address used at checkout.
- The item you want to return.
- The reason for the return.
- Clear photos if the item is damaged, faulty, incorrect, or not as described.
Please do not send an item back until we have confirmed the return instructions. Items sent back without contacting us first may not be accepted.
Costume Return Conditions
Because costumes are worn close to the body and may be used for events, returns must meet our costume condition rules.
To be eligible for a return, the item must be:
- Unworn, unused, and unwashed.
- In its original packaging where possible.
- With tags, labels, accessories, and included parts still attached or included.
- Free from makeup, deodorant, perfume, pet hair, stains, odours, marks, or damage.
- Returned in a condition suitable for resale.
We cannot accept returns for costumes that have been worn to an event, used for photos, altered, washed, damaged after delivery, or returned with missing parts.
Hygiene-Sensitive Items
For hygiene reasons, some items may not be returnable once opened, tried on, or used.
This may include wigs, masks, face coverings, hosiery, bodysuits, intimate costume pieces, makeup, adhesive items, earrings, or similar accessories.
If you are unsure whether your item can be returned, contact us before opening or using it.
Damaged, Faulty, or Wrong Items
If your order arrives damaged, faulty, incorrect, or missing an item, contact us as soon as possible at support@lotsofcostumes.com.
Please include your order number and clear photos of:
- The item received.
- The issue or damage.
- The packaging, if it was damaged in transit.
- Any labels or barcodes on the parcel.
We will review the issue and let you know the next step. Depending on the situation, this may include a replacement, refund, store credit, or another suitable resolution.
Please do not discard the item or packaging until the issue has been reviewed.
Change of Mind, Wrong Size, or Event Cancelled
We understand plans can change.
Change-of-mind returns, wrong-size returns, or returns because an event was cancelled may be accepted only if the item meets the return conditions above and the request is made within the return window.
Customers are responsible for checking product descriptions, size guidance, and measurements before ordering. If you need help choosing a size before you order, contact us and we will do our best to help.
Return Shipping
For change-of-mind, wrong-size, or no-longer-needed returns, the customer is responsible for return shipping costs.
For damaged, faulty, incorrect, or missing items, contact us before returning anything. We will review the issue case by case and confirm the most suitable next step.
Original shipping costs, duties, taxes, and import fees may not be refundable unless required by applicable law.
Refunds
Once an approved return is received and inspected, we will let you know whether the refund has been approved.
If approved, the refund will be processed back to the original payment method where possible. Your bank, card provider, or payment service may take additional time to show the refund in your account.
If the returned item does not meet our return conditions, we may be unable to approve a refund.
Exchanges
We may not always be able to offer direct exchanges, especially when stock is limited or products are fulfilled by different partners.
If you need a different size or style, contact us first. We will confirm the best option available.
Sale Items and Final Sale
Some sale, clearance, personalised, seasonal, or final-sale items may not be eligible for change-of-mind returns unless they arrive damaged, faulty, incorrect, or not as described.
Any final-sale condition should be clearly shown before checkout where applicable.
